Waypoint LARP: King George City
Gorias the golden. Gorias, crowned with many gems. Gorias, where the kings and queens of old once dwelled and now sleep forever. The city of spring, of wind, of the east. The home of the Sword of Light, Gorias is the capital of the Tuatha de Danaan, yet they never are found there. In the Endless War, it is Gorias that provides the wealth to fuel the war machine that is the Tuatha de Dannan’s armies, where countless clerks and bankers count every coin and gem torn from ancient vaults and deep mines. It is the city of nobility and honor, where the lords and ladies of the lesser Fae gather in the Courts of the Tuatha, standing before the empty thrones and speaking of the politics of the war. It is the city where the greatest love stories are told, once with beauty and innocence, now with a sadness that acknowledges that love must be stolen in brief moments between missions in the war.
Gorias is remembered among mortals in the Tarot with the suit of Swords, in honor of the city’s greatest Treasure: the Sword of Light, also called Cliamh Solias, from which none can escape once it has been drawn forth.
The Fatebound who are of the Tribe of Gorias remember the city’s beauty and wealth, and sing songs late into the night about the great love stories told there. They reminisce of the golden halls and the shining host of lords and ladies. Inheritors of ancient nobility and endless beauty, they weep at what they’ve lost. They often consider themselves the truest Seelie, inheritors of the original vision of the Tuatha de Danaan before they became tainted by the Endless War.
